Bought betty.si for $17,500 in October 2026 (he owns betty.ai) and dozens more .si names; DomainGang counted 63 .si domains and $45,987 spent by Oct 8. Still calls .com king but says quality .ai and .si make sense.
We probed every domain so you don’t have to.
Every first name, two-letter and three-letter string, US state, country and chemical element, checked in all three extensions: registry dates, what is on the site, and the asking price from the domain's own landing page first, marketplaces second.
More probed .si picks
How the probed score works
Every .si in our data with a buy-now price on its own landing page, or that is free to register, gets a score out of 100:
- Demand, 35%: how many extensions the same string is already registered in.
- Recognition, 20%: first names by US birth rank; states, countries and elements score high; two-letter names next.
- Value, 20%: the asking price against the median of similar .si names (free-to-register names score full marks).
- Brevity, 15%: shorter names score higher.
- Proven elsewhere, 10%: the .com is a working site, or the .ai is developed, listed or sold.
Each day a small date-based nudge reshuffles the strongest names, so the line-up changes daily. Picks rotate through the name sets so no one set fills the list, and every fifth pick is a name you can register today. First names show their US popularity rank. Implausible prices are left out. Prices are asks, not sales: confirm on the landing page before you buy.
Total registrations by extension
Every domain registered in each extension, not just the names researched here. Each chart has its own scale: .com is counted in hundreds of millions, .ai and .si in hundreds of thousands. Hover a point for the date and source.
Explore by name set
Each name set has its own page with registration trends, pricing, who holds the names and, for states, countries and elements, the animated registration maps.
Name sets
Pick a set to see who owns its names in .si, .ai and .com, when they were registered and what they ask.
Snapshot
How the names are being used
What a visitor sees on each domain today. Site scans cover first names and two-letter names in all three extensions. For three-letter names, states and countries the scan recorded sale evidence only, so those show as for sale, no sale sign, or no listing found.
Registration trends
Registry creation dates as they stand today. A dropped and re-registered name shows its newest date, so older years are undercounted. .ai dates of 2017-12-16 mean "on or before" the start of the current .ai registry system.
Registration map
Every name in this set lighting up in the order it was registered, with the asking price tagged as each one appears. Each animation ends on a "For sale now" map shaded by price.
The periodic table
All 118 chemical elements lighting up in the order their domain was registered. Each square shows the registration year and, if the name is for sale, its asking price. The animation ends on a "For sale now" table shaded by price.

Pricing
Landing pages versus marketplaces
Prices are taken from the best evidence available: the domain's own landing page first, then Sedo, Afternic and other venues. When venues disagree, the landing page wins. This section shows how often that happens.
Who holds the inventory
Registrars behind the domains currently listed for sale. A few investor-friendly registrars hold most of the speculative .si stock.
Counterparts in the other extensions
For names listed for sale in one extension, what the same name is doing in the other two. A developed .com usually means an established brand already owns the name elsewhere.
Compare all name sets
Median asking price and share listed for sale in every name set side by side.

Describe the domain you want
The assistant searches the same data as the finder and explains its picks: price against similar names, which evidence the price comes from, and who already uses the name in other extensions.
Runs on your own Claude account. Results come from the scan data on this page, so recheck availability and price on the domain itself before buying.
Dropping soon
Names that may become free to register: already in the registry’s delete cycle, past their expiry date, or expiring in the coming weeks. Most expiring names get renewed, so treat anything not yet in pending delete as a watch list, not a sure thing. How the .si, .com and .ai drop cycles work, and where to backorder ↓
How the drop cycle works
An unrenewed .si name is released about 30 days after it expires: it sits in a 30-day quarantine, then goes to whoever registers it first. That is less than half the wait for .com or .ai, which run through grace, redemption and a locked pending-delete phase.
.com grace is shown at its 45-day maximum (registrars choose 0–45). The .ai stages are typical values and vary by source. Most .ai names are sold in a Namecheap registry auction before they reach the drop.
.si · about 30 days
- Expiry date: quarantine starts that day. The registry pulls the name from DNS, so the site and email stop. RDAP shows
pending delete. - Days 0–30, quarantine: the owner can still renew, usually at the normal price. A renewed name is back within about 2 hours. A registrar can also delete a name early; its 30 days then start that day, and RDAP adds
redemption period. - Day 30: the registry deletes it. It is free at once, first come first served. There is no auction or grace phase, and the release hour isn't published.
.com · 35 to 80 days
- Grace, 0–45 days: the owner can renew at the normal price. Registrars often sell the name in their own expired auctions (GoDaddy, NameJet, SnapNames) during this phase.
- Redemption, 30 days: the name is offline. Restoring costs about $100–175 plus renewal.
- Pending delete, 5 days: locked. The name is released in Verisign's daily batch, usually around 11am–2pm Pacific. DropCatch, SnapNames and NameJet race for it.
.ai · about 65 days
- Renewal and grace: names are registered for 2 years at a time. Many registrars auto-renew about 7 days before expiry; some offer around 30 days of grace.
- Redemption, 30 days: restoring costs about $300–400, the most of the three.
- Registry auction at Namecheap: since February 2025, expiring .ai names are auctioned daily and exclusively on Namecheap Market. Opening bids are reported at $400. A win can be cancelled if the owner redeems the name first.
- No bids: the name relists at a low opening bid (about $10–15), then drops to open registration after pending delete (5 to 15 days; sources differ). Only those unsold names reach drop-catchers.
Where to backorder .si
| Service | Cost | How it works | Track record |
|---|---|---|---|
| Backorders.Domains recommended | €50 flat | Sole backorder wins at €50; several orders → 7-day proxy auction | Caught fanta.si and 8 of 12 top .si drops in mid-2026 (NamePros) |
| Regery backup | Not published | Drop-catches .si, checking every 30 minutes | Fast .si registrations; one reported pending-delete glitch |
| DomainExchange.si | Not published | Reported to take .si backorders; mainly a .si marketplace with escrow | Unproven |
| BB Online | Free watch; ~$144 if caught | Registers for the first person who asked; no auction | No public .si record |
| notrenewing.com | ~$99 a name (2025) | Buy from owners who won't renew, before the drop | Small listings |
.ai is different: expiring .ai names go to the registry’s daily auction on Namecheap Market before they can drop, so bid there rather than backordering. Not for .si: Dynadot backorders, DropCatch, NameJet and NeoServ. Tips: place the backorder while the name is in quarantine, and use two services for a name you really want. Only one registration can win, so a second order is a backup, not a bid against yourself. For .com, use DropCatch, SnapNames or NameJet.
Reading the status column
| RDAP status | What it means for .si |
|---|---|
pending delete | Expired and in quarantine. Free about 30 days after the expiry date |
pending delete + redemption period | Deleted early by the registrar. Free 30 days after the status changed |
inactive | No name servers. Still registered, not dropping |
client delete prohibited | Registrar lock against deletion. The expiry date still applies |
Past expiry, still active | Usually renewed and RDAP not refreshed yet. Re-check before you backorder |

Developed .si domains for the global market
Live .si websites built for an international audience rather than for Slovenia. Every registered .si in the research (first names, two- and three-letter names, US states, countries and elements) was visited, and each site’s language, market and purpose recorded.
How one NamePros thread turned .si into "Super Intelligence"
A page-by-page reading of the NamePros thread "Showcase your .SI domains – Super Intelligence": every page, every post, every domain mentioned and every sale reported, from the first post in June 2024 to today. Credit for the spark goes to Lox, who first shared that Microsoft owns copilot.si on June 23, 2024.

Five eras
The thread falls into five stretches, each set off by an outside event. The bar under each era shows its share of the thread's pages.
Activity
Each forum page holds about 20 posts, so pages per month is a direct measure of how much the community was talking.
Every sale reported in the thread
Euro prices are converted at €1 = $1.16 for sorting and totals; the original currency is shown. "Reported" means a member relayed the figure without proof. Benchmark rows are .ai and .com sales the thread cited for comparison. A repeat report is the same sale posted again; it is left out of counts and totals.

In June 2026 he checked the WHOIS of ten recent .si sales and found the same buyer (PremiumDoms.io) behind them, raising questions about coordinated buying. The NamePros thread argued about it for pages.
Started compiling every ".si (Superintelligence)" domain in July 2024, weeks after the NamePros thread opened. Claims 95,000+ .si registered since then and predicted resales would reach five figures.
Posted "The .si hype might come true after all!" in May 2026, then reported $30,000 of .si sales at Sedo in one day. Later said price hikes by sellers were slowing sales.
Sold rebellion.si for $28,700 on Oct 15, 2026. Bought name.si in May 2026, posts registry statistics such as how many two-letter .si were registered each year, and holds a sizeable share of three-digit .si names.
